Anne Perera is a co-author of Nutrition 2000, published by Longman Paul in 1994. The following year the authors won the Nutrition Writer of the Year Award sponsored by the New Zealand Guild of Food Writers. Nutrition 2000 provides accurate information on food and nutrition, separating facts from fallacies. All the important areas are covered in a format that is easy to understand. The official Food & Nutrition Guidelines of the early 1990’s from the Nutrition Taskforce are explained; daily servings from each food group are clearly illustrated with examples of what to eat. Sections on vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins explain these components of our daily diet thoroughly and easily. The book is suitable as an introduction to nutrition for both secondary and tertiary level students. It can be used by anyone who wants to improve their lifestyle by making sensible changes in their eating habits. The book is now out of print but copies are available in libraries.
